UN Women Ukraine unequivocally condemns the Russian Armed Forces’ mass missile attack on July 8, 2024, which struck civilian infrastructure across Ukraine, including the National Specialized Children's Hospital «Ohmatdyt» and the Women’s Healthcare Center “Isida Clinic” in Kyiv. This attack resulted in civilian casualties and injuries, particularly among the most vulnerable categories of Ukrainian civilians.

As of 3 pm, 31 killed and 125 wounded as reported by the Ministry of the Internal Affairs, rescue operations are ongoing.

"Kyiv, Dnipro, Pokrovsk, Kryvyi Rih, Kramatorsk, and other cities and villages across Ukraine came under deadly shelling by the Russian Armed Forces today. These attacks hit infrastructure, where women and children were receiving medical treatment. The Russian Federation must be held accountable for its violations of international humanitarian law, and the security and protection of women and children must be prioritized." – Sabine Freizer Gunes, UN Women Representative in Ukraine.

UN Women Ukraine expresses solidarity with those affected and reaffirms its commitment to stand with Ukraine and lead efforts to protect the rights of women and girls.
