Olena is an experienced lawyer who specialized in land and corporate law in the agricultural sector before the war in Ukraine. However, with the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and after five months of occupation, she found herself in Kyiv — without a job, unable to return to her previous profession, and needing to start everything from scratch.
Finding a New Path
Having a legal certificate and a deep understanding of the legal field, Olena began looking for new opportunities to apply her experience. She submitted her resume to a non-governmental organization, where they immediately recognized her potential and offered her a new role — an educator and consultant for women. There, she conducts lectures, provides individual legal consultations on domestic violence, women's rights, and is also involved in administrative and contractual work.
“I realized that my experience is valuable. And if presented correctly, it can help other women feel their own power,” Olena says.
The Course that Changed Not Just Her Career, but Her Confidence
Olena decided to take the "Content Manager" course to learn how to communicate systematically, deliver important information to the target audience, and overcome internal barriers.
"I used to be afraid of speaking in public. The course gave me tools, an understanding of content structure, and most importantly — confidence," Olena admits.
Olena’s Achievements:
Conducted a series of open webinars on legal topics.
Developing her own training course for women.
Has a clear content strategy for her work.
Working on expanding her audience through social media.
Plans for the Future
Olena aims to scale her activities, involve more women in legal education, and create a platform where women can not only receive legal assistance but also feel support, strength, and confidence in themselves.
"Now I’m not just a lawyer — I am a voice that speaks about rights, protection, and dignity. And I have the knowledge to be heard," Olena says.
Olena’s story is an inspiring example of how professionalism, resilience, and a drive for development help overcome life’s difficulties and find a new calling.
