She Leads Ukraine | Women’s Leadership and Political Participation in Times of Challenges

She Leads Ukraine is a UN Women initiative aimed at advancing women’s leadership and strengthening women’s political participation in Ukraine. In 2025, 600 women from all regions of the country took part in the initiative.

This video was created during the She Leads Ukraine Forum, held on 28 November 2025 in Kyiv, which became a key milestone of the initiative. The event brought together more than 120 participants, including programme alumnae, certified trainers, representatives of public authorities and state institutions, international partners, and the diplomatic community.

The video features the voices of initiative participants, trainers, representatives of public authorities, and the international community. They share their perspectives on women’s leadership as a combination of responsibility, influence, empathy, and the ability to make decisions in the context of war, recovery, and transformation.

The forum provided a space for experience sharing, mutual support, and professional development, as well as a platform to discuss the role of women in political processes, local governance, elections, European integration, and Ukraine’s recovery.

She Leads Ukraine invests in the potential of women leaders today to help build an inclusive, just, and resilient future for Ukraine.

She Leads Ukraine is implemented by UN Women in Ukraine in partnership with the Women’s Consortium of Ukraine and the Bureau of Gender Strategies and Budgeting, in cooperation with the Central Election Commission of Ukraine and the Equal Opportunities Caucus of the Verkhovna Rada, with financial support from the governments of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
