The UN Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) is a flexible and rapid financing mechanism that invests in strengthening the capacity of local women’s organizations to prevent conflicts, respond to crises, and seize key peacebuilding opportunities.

In March 2022, with technical support from UN Women in Ukraine, WPHF swiftly mobilized emergency funding for local women-led civil society organizations in response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The support was subsequently expanded and transformed into sustained programmatic assistance, enabling women human rights defenders and women-led organizations to: provide humanitarian assistance to internally displaced women; deliver psychosocial and legal support; prevent and respond to gender-based violence; and engage in local planning, recovery, and peacebuilding processes.

The updated version of the report reflects the completed cycle of program implementation for 2022–2025 and includes fully aggregated data for 2025, namely:

  • the total number of supported organizations in Ukraine;

  • the number of funded projects;

  • beneficiaries of WPHF-funded activities;

  • total funding allocated to Ukraine;

  • geographic spread of WPHF support in Ukraine (2022–April 2025).
